RAA Sensing Spaces | Architecture Reimagined | Diébédo Francis Kéré

Video from 2014 of Diébédo Francis Kéré speaking about the methods he employs in his home of Burkina Faso.  Community-built projects that as a result create a better sense of ownership over a place and love for it.  People care more about the places they have had an involvement in creating.  It’s quite an apt example of open-source development.  Exactly what I’ve been banging on about in my uni project work for a while now… I wonder if this same sense of communal creation would be possible to replicate over in the UK?  Or if regulation and climate considerations would be too stifling?  I do really believe open-source development models like this are key, but it does seem much more of a challenge over here with such burdensome (though necessary) legislation.  Look at what you can achieve if you can find a way to do it!  Beautiful buildings.
